About the Author
Katherine Ackley taught in the English Department at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point from 1979 to 2002 and also served as coordinator of the Women's Studies Program for 10 years and assistant dean of Graduate Studies for five years. Her research interests center on women in literature, with emphasis on literary representations of women's issues and, more recently, British crime writers. Her books include THE NOVELS OF BARBARA PYM (1989), WOMEN AND VIOLENCE IN LITERATURE: AN ESSAY COLLECTION (1990), MISOGYNY IN LITERATURE: AN ESSAY COLLECTION (1992), and ESSAYS FROM CONTEMPORARY CULTURE (2004, 5th Edition). The author of dozens of published articles, she received more than 20 grants for research and development and was the first woman to receive the UWSP University Scholar Award. Dr. Ackley earned a master's degree in English from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in English from Ball State University.

You can read this whole book in about an hour. This young lady Is beautiful and alluring. I just wish there were more facts about her, a lot of writings about Maria is speculation, some good and some not so good. You be the judge. Don't believe all you read but yet believe all you read that is good.

I have been a Secret follower since its inception. This is an Absolutely PERFECT book for my grandchildren! I'm going to keep 1 for me and the kids will all be receiving one for Christmas!

Good storyline

So thrilled that this series has been made accessible to children. This book has neat illustrations..not overly colourful though which may detract from maintaining attention or focus on the pages as they are being read. I love the meaning behind the story and how it encourages kids to imagine. I think that if the story is being read repeatedly and debriefed, then kids can take more from it than simply shelving it for a month. Was looking forward to its release, and am very impressed.

Even though I have never taken a sensory course before, this book allows me a greater understanding of the information without bogging me down with complicated terms and lofty prose. I have collected a variety of Sensory materials (articles, manuals, books, etc.) through the years, and I hadn't found a book more complete and updated than this one. It has extremely useful tips for Sensory leaders, from building a Sensory Lab to Multivariate Statistical techniques you can apply. As Sensory Analyst, I highly recommend this book either for students or professionals.

This is one of the best sensory text books I've used through college and into my career. The value of this text is that it explains industry based sensory evaluations and provides sensory sheets and data pages that can be used for sensory projects. It may be missing some information on sensory theory, but its value is in how it can be applied to a practical setting.

Bought the book at Haslam's in St. Pete in the very early 80s. The ideas here just keep popping up in later books/magazines with different justifications for inclusion. Moral: hey, use all the ideas in this source book - just don't publicly brand them "high-tech."
